My wife had a medical emergency last week and we had to spend 3 days in the hospital to get her better. At that time last week, I was trying to maintain some new habits like completing the daily lessons from 100 Days of Swift and the February Activity Challenge on my Apple Watch and obviously I failed to achieve both while we were in the hospital.

The great thing about missing those goals was that I realized that they were not important compared to focusing my time with my wife. These online lessons would still be there when I get back, and there would be more activity challenges I could try in the future. It gives me a warm feeling to know that my priorities are not screwed up.

It also made me think about all the “extra-curricular” stuff in my life - Watching all the episodes of this new TV show at once, reading about the latest news on the upcoming Macs and iPhones everyday, collecting all the heroes of this new iOS game I’m playing… those things do not need to happen. There’s too much distractions nowadays from the really important things like family, love, & friendships. Ironically, these are the things that will make you feel complete and they never run out.
